Through the Axis Technology Integration Partner (TIP) program, Leviathan has direct engineering access to Axis’s state-of-the-art Q8752-E Mk II bispectral camera nodes, fusing continuous thermal infrared sensing with high-definition optical streams to eliminate coastal visibility blind spots.
Strategic Integration
Leviathan fuses Axis’s bispectral video pipelines directly into its edge-inference compute. By running YOLOv8 detection models on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module, the system processes high-frequency thermal and optical feeds at the camera site. Thermal imaging detects the heat signatures of whale blows and breaches even in thick fog, heavy rain, or absolute darkness, while the optical stream provides high-confidence visual species confirmation during the day.
Strategic Collaboration & Pilots
Through the Axis TIP program, Leviathan’s hardware team works with Axis engineers to stress-test camera performance in harsh, corrosive marine environments (such as the bluffs of Rancho Palos Verdes). Axis provides specialized hardware access, SDK support for edge video streaming, and pre-release firmware optimization to ensure zero-latency data ingest into LeviathanOS.
