Google for Startups provides Leviathan with the scalable cloud hosting, technical credits, and advanced developer resources required to power its backend architecture. By leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Leviathan consolidates high-volume sensor feeds and historical databases into a unified, queryable interface for researchers and maritime operators.
Strategic Integration
The platform’s backend runs on Google Cloud, managing the ingestion of real-time station alerts and database storage. By utilizing Vertex AI services and geospatial reasoning models, the database processes complex environmental queries. This infrastructure enables the spatial aggregation of over 180,000 historical sightings onto the interactive WhaleMapper dashboard.
Strategic Collaboration & Pilots
The program’s infrastructure subsidies allow Leviathan to maintain a highly performant cloud environment during the pre-seed phase, protecting startup unit economics as sensor volume grows. The collaboration also routes through Google’s extended-workforce events team (including Brittney Glass and Victoria Bujny), offering speaking opportunities at AI Demo Days and Cloud Next, and provides access to advanced AI Studio platforms.
