Through the NVIDIA Inception program, Leviathan gains access to advanced hardware optimization, technical design assistance, and government procurement channels. This collaboration ensures that Leviathan’s shore-based observatory network runs highly optimized detection models directly at the camera site, making the system independent of continuous high-bandwidth cloud connectivity.
Strategic Integration
Leviathan’s physical observatories utilize energy-efficient NVIDIA edge compute modules to process high-definition video locally. By running object detection and segmentation algorithms at the station, the system identifies whale activity in milliseconds and transmits only metadata and key event frames to the cloud. This reduces cellular data costs by an order of magnitude and maintains continuous operation during network dropouts.
Strategic Collaboration & Pilots
Coordinated by Carla Cammarata (NVIDIA SLED Account Development Specialist), the collaboration includes architectural guidance on NVIDIA’s Video Search and Summarization (VSS) blueprint to index and search spatial data fast. The partnership also utilizes NVIDIA Omniverse synthetic-data credits to simulate whale blows in varied sea states and fog conditions, refining AI models prior to deployment, and leverages NVIDIA Capital Connect for seed-round introductions.
